Moto X4 With Dual Cameras, Launched at IFA 2017: Price, Specifications

company launched several other devices in the 'X' series, the last one being the Moto X Force launched in November 2015. Now, Lenovo, after many leaks, has resurrected the Moto X lineup, with the launch of the Moto X4 on Thursday at IFA 2017 in Berlin.

Moto X4 design
The smartphone has been launched in Super Black and Sterling Blue colour options. The Moto X4 sports a metal unibody, a dual camera setup at the back within a protruding round-shaped ring protection, and the Motorola batwing logo right underneath it. At the front is the fingerprint scanner underneath the home button. The volume and the power keys both are situated on the right edge of the Moto X4. It sports on-screen navigation buttons, while the USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack are both housed at the bottom edge of the smartphone.

The Moto X4 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and supports a single-SIM slot (Nano). It sports a 5.2-inch full-HD LTPS IPS display with 424ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphone is powered by the 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC paired with Android 508 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Internal storage is at 32GB, but there is scope for further expansion using the microSD card slot (up to 2TB). In some regions, a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option is also expected.

Coming to the camera, the Moto X4 sports a dual camera setup at the back. It houses one 12-megapixel dual autofocus sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels; and another 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with 120-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture, and 1.12-micron pixels. This dual camera setup comes alongside a colour correlated temperature (CCT) dual-LED flash and PDAF.

The Moto X4 packs a 3000mAh battery that claims to last all day, and even supports fast charging (six hours of power in 15 minutes). Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS, GLONASS, 4G LTE, and FM radio support. The dimensions of the Moto X4 are at 148.35x73.4x7.99mm, and the smartphone weighs 163 grams. The smartphone sports an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

Moto X4 features

Moto X4 is that it comes with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support offering options for voice based search. It is also IP68 water and dust resistant, has a new three-finger screenshot gesture, and comes with an inbuilt password manager called Moto Key. The latest Bluetooth support brings the ability to allow it to sync with four speakers or headphones at one time. Lastly, but importantly, the Moto X4 doesn't offer Moto Mods support.

Moto X4 price, availability

The Moto X4 will be first available in Europe sometime this month. The smartphone is priced in the mid-range segment at EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 30,300). Other regions will see the Moto X4 launch soon, sometime in Fall.

Moto G5S Plus, Moto G5S Launched in India: Price, Specifications, and More

Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5S, the special edition models of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones, were launched in India on Tuesday. The Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus India launch occurred within a month of Lenovo unveiling them globally. The latter will be available via offline stores, while the latter will be sold via Amazon India as well as the company's Moto Hub offline stores. 

The key features of the two smartphones is the rear camera. While the Moto G5S Plus bears a dual rear camera setup (with two 13-megapixel sensors) the Moto G5S sports a single rear camera setup (with a 16-megapixel sensor) both feature front flash modules.

The Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5S both sport fingerprint sensors on their home buttons, bear metal unibody designs, and feature water-repellent nano-coating that makes them splash-proof. They both ship with TurboPower chargers as well, for fast charging.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Moto G5S Plus runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, and it sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC clocked up to 2GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM. As we mentioned, the smartphone bears a dual rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors with an f/2.0 aperture, depth editing software, and colour correcting dual-LED flash. On the front, it bears an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens, and an LED flash.

The Moto G5S Plus bears 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The smartphone runs on a 3000mAh battery that with the TurboPower charger can in 15 minutes provide up to 6 hours of battery life. It weighs 168 grams and measures 153.5x76.2x8mm.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC clocked up to 1.4GHz, coupled with 4GB of RAM. As we mentioned, the smartphone bears a single rear camera with a 16-megapixel sensor, PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. On the front, it bears a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens, and an LED flash.

The Moto G5S Plus bears 32GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The smartphone runs on a 3000mAh battery that with the TurboPower charger can in 15 minutes provide up to 6 hours of battery life. It weighs 157 grams and measures 150x73.5x8.2mm.

Moto G5S Plus, Moto G5S  price, availability, 

The Moto G5S Plus is priced at Rs 15,999, while the Moto G5S costs Rs 13,999 only. Both the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus are exclusive to Amazon India and will go on sale starting midnight, August 29. They will be available in Lunar Gray and Blush Gold colour options.

Moto Z2 Play With Moto Mod Support Launched: Price, Specifications, Release Date

Thursday launched the Moto Z2 Play smartphone that runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, comes with a Moto Voice Assistant, and like its predecessor, supports Moto Mods. The smartphone is priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 32,200) unlocked in the US, where it will go on sale this Summer. There's no word on India launch yet, though with a Moto event scheduled next week, it's possible the Moto Z2 Play could make an appearance there.

The phone now has a sleek metal unibody design, instead of the glass back seen on the Moto Z Play, but the connecting pins for the Moto Mods still sit at the back of the phone. The smartphone will be made available in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold colour variants. The rear camera is still situated inside the round camera bump ring at the back, and the fingerprint scanner on the Moto Z2 Play is underneath the Home Button in the front, which now has a slightly circular shape.

The Moto Z2 Play runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor paired with two bundle options – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. There’s also a microSD card slot for further expansion of storage (up to 2TB). It sports a 3.5mm jack and comes with USB Type-C

Moto Z2 Play sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with a 1.4-micron pixel sensor, an aperture of f/1.7, a colour correlated temperature (CCT) dual-LED flash, as well as laser and dual autofocus lens, At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture, wide-angle lens, and a dual-LED CCT flash. 

The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery, a major downgrade from 3510mAh battery seen on the predecessor Moto Z Play, but Lenovo claims the new, more efficient chipset will compensate for the loss. The included TurboPower charger provides 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes, and the battery is rated to deliver up to 30 hours of mixed usage.

Connectivity options on the Moto Z2 Play include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C (3.1), a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, FM radio, and GPS/ A-GPS. 

Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It weighs 145 grams, and measures 156.2x76.2x5.99mm.

• Moto Z2 Play and new Moto Mods

The Moto Z2 Play is also water repellent with nano-coating and is only 5.99m thick. The smartphone, as mentioned brings Moto Mods support. It will support all the old Moto Mods, as well as the new ones that have been launched alongside. The new Moto Mods include a Moto Power Pack that brings additional 2200mAh battery. This accessory weighs only 72grams more, comes in black and white colour options, and brings up to 16 hours of more power on board. In the US, it is priced at $49.99 (roughly Rs. 3,200).
Moto has also launched a Wireless Charging Style Shell that lets you do exactly as the name suggests for the price of $39.99 (roughly Rs. 2,500) There’s also the introduction of the JBL SoundBoost 2 Moto Mod that comes with a kickstand, and is splash proof. It is priced at $79.99 (roughly Rs. 5,100), and come in black, red, and blue colour variants.

Turbo Power Pack Moto Mod which brings a 3490mAh additional battery on board with fast charging support. It supports up to 30W TurboPower and is rated to charge up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes. It adds almost a day’s worth of power on the smartphone and weighs only 95 grams. In the US, the TurboPower Pack is priced at $79.99 (roughly Rs. 5,100).

Xiaomi Redmi 4 vs Lenovo K6 Power vs Moto G5 vs Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace : Compared Price, Specifications, Design

Redmi smartphone to its India portfolio - the Redmi 4. As is the tradition of Xiaomi, the Redmi 4 packs a punch with great specifications at a reasonable price point. However, the only drawback is its scarce availability due to flash sales that get over in, well, a flash.

Availability on May 23, we pit the smartphone against its competition to see how it fares. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 battles against the Moto G5, Lenovo K6 Power and Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace to prove its metal in this highly competitive market.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace, the other three smartphones battle with each other fiercely, when it comes to specifications. The area where Redmi 4 really shines is the battery which is at 4100mAh, and Lenovo falls short by a small margin with a 4000mAH battery. The Moto G5 runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat software, while the others run on age-old Marshmallow with their own skins on top. All four smartphones have a 5-inch display, with Lenovo and Motorola offering full-HD resolution, while the Redmi 4 offers only HD resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace lacks a fingerprint scanner. While Lenovo and Xiaomi house it on the rear panel, Motorola places it underneath the Home Button. All of them sport a metal frame as well. The Redmi 4 clearly outshines in various departments, and the 3GB variant which competes directly with the Lenovo K6 Power and Motorola G5 is priced at Rs. 8,999 - cheaper than the other two. However, if history is any testimony, it'll be really difficult to get your hands on one, as availability on initial launch is always scarce.

The price, Redmi 4 wins by a long margin if the starting price is considered i.e. Rs. 6,999. The Moto G5, and Samsung Galaxy J2 Ace are priced at Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 8,490 respectively. 

The Lenovo K6 Power is available in two variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is priced at Rs. 9,999 while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at Rs. 10,999.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has been launched in three memory/ storage variants in India. The 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage variant has been priced at Rs. 6,999, the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant has been priced at Rs. 8,999, while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage is priced at Rs. 10,999.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 specs table, the 3GB variant is most suitable to compete with the others, except the Samsung smartphone, which falls behind almost in all aspects. all the other manufacturers have made their smartphones available online only. Samsung sells the Galaxy J2 Ace through offline and online retailers.

New Moto X4, Z, G, E and C Devices Detailed in Leaked

The Moto X4 returns in this leak, once again confirming the new design language and some of the devices’ features.

The Moto family has now grown to 5 letters, with the Z seemingly residing at the top of the hierarchy through its “unlimited capabilities”. The Moto Z Play and Z Force are shown by themselves without a regular Moto Z, as the Z Play seems to be filling that gap. The slide doesn’t tell us much other than the fact that motomods will return, though the mentioning of “gigabit LTE” points straight at an upgraded Snapdragon 835 processor, which was expected anyway.

The X4 would have a 5.5" screen of unknown resolution, the brand new Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, laser autofocus, and a massive 3800mAh battery.

The presentation slide itself, we can see that the phone will have a metal body, 3D glass , a smart camera, IP68 water and dust resistance , AI integration always-on voice , 3xCA , and Turbo Charging.Below the Moto Z Play and Moto Z Force we find the upcoming Moto X4, under the label unlimited perfection. 

The new Moto X will go back to basics with a smaller 5.2 inch FHD display, a 3D glass design and “smart cam” features. While the picture isn’t clear, it does confirm recent leaks, indicating that the phone will sport a glass design not unlike what’s being adopted by other popular flagships.

Power and volume buttons are mounted on the right, a flat Motorola logo, dual cameras and a dual LED flash, a bluish color on the front, some 'moto' branding, and an earpiece double as a speaker. Interestingly, there are no pins on the back for Moto Mods. Overall, it's a decent-looking phone that follows the same design language that Motorola has had since Lenovo took control.

The entries in the Moto G, E and C also look to be excellent value propositions, with big batteries and a refined design language. All of this points towards an exciting year for Motorola, with an expansion of its traditional categories. Under Lenovo, the company has come pretty far and deviated from the simpler ‘X,G,E” lineups it used to offer. It might be a bit more confusing and crowded, but these do look like solid offers and quite a barrage of products to storm this last half of 2017.
